10 days of awesomeness in France!

End of the Pier

For the past week and a bit I have been in France with Zak and his Mum and Dad (and Jazz the dog) staying at Saint Jean De Monts at their caravan. It was an amazing area surrounded by loads of woodland. We had an amazing time doing absolutely loads of things like bike riding through woods to the beach, slacklining in the woods, playing football on a night, climbing at Noirmoutier, playing frisbee, walking out on the pier, doing lots of swimming at the pool and even in the sea, bit chilly though! Also we visited the Indian Forest and did the extreme activities there such as the epic water jump (cool pictures to follow in a few days,) the high ropes courses, a massive rope swing, pillow jumping, go karts, various inflatables and a rodeo bull thing! We were like big kids definitely not acting our age!

Then came Easter Sunday, we eventually woke up to find that the Easter Bunny had been and left us some treats and we were also told as a surprise that we would be going to Fontainebleau for some bouldering. A second surprise was that we would be staying at the Caribou Adventures which is a site where you sleep in suspended ‘bubble’ like tents high in the trees with lots of awesome things to do. Zak and I had no idea this was coming so we headed straight out to make the most of our last day in St Jean by doing as much slack lining as possible!

After the 4 hour car drive to Font we arrived at the camp to be told we would be staying 15m above the ground in a bubble suspended up high! To get up there was a challenge because we had to go up a climbing wall and then across a zip wire to our balcony! (Video of this to follow soon!) Around the site there were lots to do like the high ropes courses, volley ball, swimming, bike riding and much more. After not even an hour on site Zak and I headed off for a long bike ride with the staff which took us around Font! It was such a cool place to be and I really enjoy it. We climbed at the ‘Trois Pignons’ Centre and North and also at ‘Cul De Chien’ where I was pleased to flash a 7a (Le Toit de Cul de Chien) and I got to the 2nd last move on the problem just right off it. It’s nice to see that my practice outside at Cratcliffe and Robin Hoods Stride is paying off! After doing some ace bouldering in the hot sun the holiday drew to an end. All that was left to say was bye bye to France as we left the port with a 5 hour ferry ride to go!

I had an incredibly action packed time, so much fun and a great laugh, thanks to Toni and Ben for taking me with them! 🙂

There will be more videos including just about everything above so keep coming back to check what else I’ll be posting!
