I’ve just got back from the European Youth Bouldering Championships and what a great trip it was. On Thursday we explored some of the amazing scenery in the Austrian Alps and got psyched for the competition on Friday and Saturday. My qualifying climbs were some of the toughest I’ve ever been on and tactics really had to be put in to action with about 50 people in my category. Beating the queues, brushing the climbs, cleaning my shoes and time management were all essential. I also now know what areas I need to work on over the coming months(crimps!). Watching Will and Molly in the finals was amazing too, the GB team being notoriously loud and very encouraging. Massive well done to Molly who got the bronze medal in her last junior competition as well. Thanks to management and the team for another awesome comp trip.
