On Sunday 27th July I was down in London competing in the 3rd and final round of the Junior British Bouldering Championships which was held at The Arch Climbing Centre. I started climbing at 9 o’clock and as usual I had 8 qualifying blocs to attempt and I successfully flashed 7 out of 8 of them which resulted in me qualifying in joint 1st for the final with my friend Dom.
Isolation was like sitting in a sauna, really hot and stuffy! The final started at 3 o’clock and I got on the 1st bloc and did good, just coming short of the bonus. Next was bloc 2 and unfortunately I just couldn’t figure out the sequence, I looked like I was trying to tie myself in a knot! On the 3rd bloc I nearly did it and I finished 4th on the day and 4th overall in the UK. Really pleased with my result in the Championships and enjoyed all of the rounds. I had a great day competing and it was cool to catch up with my friends again!
Also I had an extra day in London to have a look around and see the various sights. Here’s me at Buckingham Palace and The Natural History Museum.. 🙂
